Blogging for Money
April 8, 2008It’s been over a week since I last posted on this blog. A long time since I was focusing on my new job. I said last time I’d tell you if there’s any benefit to it, well guess what, there is!
I just received my first payment through PayPal after writing 5 500-word articles. I earned $15 in 2 days. This I know is still a low rate, but I have just started in this business and I know that once I build my reputation on sites for freelance jobs, I know I can demand for higher pay. If you want to try your luck in blogging, here are some sites I used to get some of my clients. By the way, I already have 3 client, but I haven’t started with the other two yet. Again, I’ll give you updates as soon as I can. And now for those sites.
1. GetAFreelancer.com: this is where I got two of my clients. The first one I got is paying me $3 per 500-word article. I won the bid for 10 articles but I think they might give me more jobs without needing to bid again. My agreement with her is that we reevaluate my salary after a month. Unfortunately, there’s a $5 charge for the site’s commission. Paypal charges $0.89 for every transaction, so always be careful when transferring more to your bank account. I haven’t started with my other client yet, but that one pays much higher and i will probably have enough work for the next 6 months.
2. Scriptlance.com: this is where I got my other client. Her offer is a lot lower than the first one but since I am still trying to get reviews so I can get more clients.
3. Project4hire: Well, so far no feedback yet. If you are a programmer, you might be able to get work from here. I had trouble looking for a job that fits me here since there weren’t a lot for writing and blogging.
4. oDesk.com: This site requires that you complete several tests to put up your rating so you get hired easily and get higher pay. No luck on this one too.
5. www.online-writing-jobs.com: I got one two replies from potential customers on this one, but we are still on the negotiation phase. What I like about this site is that there’s no commission deducted on your salary. What’s not good is that you can be easily a victim of fraud.
If you want a homebased job and has the talent for writing, well, this maybe the answer your needs. Just remember, build up your reputation first and be wary of fraud.
