My way of expressing emotions has always been through writing and photography. Water and nature have always been my comfort zone. Once I dreamt of showing the world what my eyes see. Armed with a digicam and my laptop, now I can!

Coming Back

September 10, 2008

It’s been three months since my last post. My maternity leave is over and I’m starting to blog again. I reviewed my top 60 places to visit in Cordillera and I’m shocked to see that I’ve only written until #2, hahaha… Sorry about that guys. I guess I just had to much work plus giving birth is no small feat so you have to excused me. Any way, I’m back!

My post today is about Ambuklao Dam.
For people who lived in Cordi all their lives (such as myself) Ambuklao dam is a popular architechture. Built in the 1950s, it is considered as one of the largests dams in South East Asia. It is located 36 kilometers away from Baguio - roughly 15 minutes drive from the city center. It’s main source of water comes from Agno River, also the longest waterway in the whole Luzon.

Ambuklao is a favorite destination among the youth especially since they can go swimming at the reservoir. It can be dangerous but hey, its an adventure. Also, most of the residents go fishing at the reservoir and a lot of them claim that the fish here tastes great. The area is also a favorite among mountain climbers and bikers. The following photographs are from http://www.cityofpines.com/ambuklao.html and http://www.waypoints.ph/detail_gen.html?wpt=ambukd.

If you want to go kayaking, you can also do it there. No more need to travel to Kalinga or Abra! Check out these videos:
